Hifz progress tracker
Hifz is protected by the revision cycle, not by speed. This tracker makes the cycle visible: daily sabaq, weekly sabqi review and manzil progress across juz, on one page for the fridge or the desk.
How to use the tracker
- Sabaq: write today's new portion and tick when heard by the teacher
- Sabqi: tick the last seven days' portions recited from memory
- Manzil: tick each older juz reviewed this week
- Weekly: one line on fluency, tajweed slips and pace adjustments
The rules that protect hifz
- Never add new sabaq while old revision is slipping
- Small daily portions beat occasional long sessions
- Same time every day, ideally after Fajr or after school
- Slow down the pace rather than skipping the revision cycle
Milestones to celebrate
- First full surah recited from memory
- Each juz completed and reviewed
- Halfway point (15 juz) with family recognition
- Completion and the first full recitation
Tutor tip: Hifz is a marathon managed in small daily pieces. If school weeks get heavy, the teacher slows new sabaq and strengthens revision; never drop the cycle to chase pace.
