What is Noorani Qaida?

Noorani Qaida is the beginner's workbook that starts every Quran journey: the Arabic alphabet, letter joins, vowels and the first recitation rules, taught in small graduated lessons. Almost every Hafiz and reciter alive began on its first page.
What the Qaida teaches
The book moves step by step: individual letters, then letters in joining positions, then harakat (short vowels), tanween, madd (elongation), sukoon, shaddah and the beginnings of tajweed application. Each lesson builds directly on the last, which is why skipping ahead almost always backfires.
How long does it take?
With a daily 15-20 minute lesson, most children complete the Qaida in three to six months. Consistency matters far more than pace: a child doing ten minutes daily will pass a child doing an hour every Sunday, every time.
How parents support at home
Sit with your child for the daily revision, even if you do not read Arabic yourself: hearing the lesson repeated is the support. Keep sessions short and warm, praise consistency, and let the teacher own the corrections. The Qaida stage sets recitation habits for life, so patience here pays for decades.
